The world turns aside to let any man pass who knows where he is going.” -Epictetus
Before a man should embark on any journey he ought to have clear sight of his destination. If you are to be a man on a mission then your demeanor will make it obvious. The world will see that it is unwise to stand in your way. In fact, the world will begin to conform to your will.
This is the attitude that must accompany any worthy task. And there is no task more worthy than the task at hand. No half-assed measures will suffice to improve your life. When you have decided that you will achieve something then it is already so. This is the mindset with which you must approach every aspect of your life. Because, how you do ‘anything’ is how you do ‘everything.’
Throughout the Manosphere, this idea permeates every maxim and every philosophy. Whether it be called Frame, Mindset or Presence; Self-Confidence is a prerequisite for success in any endeavor. No one else needs to believe in you if you do. You control your destiny. Most guys view life as a series of unfortunate events that have been imposed upon them. They go through life in a leaky canoe barreling down a raging river without a paddle and no means to change course. Don’t be that guy. Be the river. Be a force of nature.
Like so many Game principles, this applies to life as well as women. When the world has been terminally feminized, is it any surprise that theories designed for the conquest of women would be so effective for conquering the world?
Women talk. Men do. Our mission relies upon constant self-improvement. There is no comfort granted to men, save for what they create themselves. Our job is to provide comfort not be comforted. Nothing is so uncomfortable as necessary change.
When you hit the gym, you already know you will kick ass and take names.
When you approach a girl, you already know you will get ass and take numbers.
When you arrive at your job, you already know you will NOT kiss ass or take bullshit.
This is gonna hurt. This will leave a mark. If you have no stomach for the fight, now is the time to depart.
Don’t take my word for it. Listen to the King:
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made
And crowns for convoy put into his purse:
We would not die in that man’s company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is called the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say ‘To-morrow is Saint Crispian:’
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
And say ‘These wounds I had on Crispin’s day.’
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day: then shall our names.
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember’d.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember’d;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
All things are ready, if our minds be so.
Henry V – Wm. Shakespeare
Do not be the gentlemen lying safely in your bed as your brothers endeavor to fight battles everyday against the ever-growing forces aligned against your mission. Do not wish for reinforcements to enlist in this battle, that only decreases your share of the honor of victory. No one is coming to save you from yourself. You must go to battle with the army you have.
The most crucial aspect to reclaiming your masculine nature is committing to something with every fiber of your being. You have to want to improve and take responsibility for your life so bad that you’re willing to jump without knowing where you’ll land, you have to put yourself in a very vulnerable position where you’re either going to win or you’re going to get fucking wrecked.
This is the masculine way, this is how men commit to goals they are passionate about and what could you be more passionate about than saving yourself and taking control over the brief life you have on this planet?
Furthermore, you must burn your ship after you arrive on the battlefield because you are never going back. And when the battle is won, you can proudly look upon the scars you have earned and know that you have defeated your greatest enemy: complacency. Enjoy the victory. Briefly. Then, on the to the next fight.
Once the decision is made, the future is decided in an instant. Do the work and it's just a matter of time before you end up there.
