Palin looking Undefeated in Iowa
Sarah Palin hit the Iowa State Fair like a cyclone yesterday.
The New York Times covered her appearance with this headline: “Palin Spotted – and Swarmed – at Iowa State Fair.”
Reuters said, “Palin Stokes 2012 speculation with Iowa appearance.”
And RealClearPolitics.com reported that Palin’s appearance gave voters a glimpse at “what her campaign would look like.”
As AWR Hawkins points out, Obama is focused on the alleged frontrunner, Mitt Romney. But nowhere is Romney being “swarmed” with crowds. But, not to worry, Kathleen Parker assures us that Palin is Untrending.
Later, at the fair, Palin does a live interview on Hannity and hits another home run:
To quote BenSmith @ Politico: “Palin still wandering the fair, being mobbed by fans…if she was coming to test the water…it’s warm.”
Dan Reihl:
Palin has two critical qualities, unique in that they combine in her. Beholden to no one, without fear, or restraint, Palin articulates today’s conservatism in a prudent, positive and cogent manner.
I agree with Dan’s whole post, but a third point (maybe a variation on the first point) is that she has already borne the brunt of an unbridled propaganda assault without crumbling. The more the minions of the Progressive Cthulhu strike at her, the stronger she becomes, and the more openly craven and stupid they appear. She rises like a phoenix from their ashes.
Regardless of the who the Republican nominee is that person will be “destroyed” by the left. How effective that tactic will be depends only on the character of the nominee. Could anyone withstand the scrutiny and personal attacks that Sarah Palin has already weathered and conquered?
