There are many theories out there about building a successful blog. Most advice you will find on the internet about building a successful blog is complete crap. Any combination of the keywords needed to search on this topic will lead to an unbelievable amount of blogspam.  Jimmie Bise Jr. has a great post on why he sucks at blogging [he doesn't] and why most advice found on the internet on the topic does. Suck, that is.

His advice is solid.  As is that of the hardest working man in blog-bidness, Robert Stacy McCain, whose 2009 post entitled “How to get a million hits on your blog in less than a year” pushed the glorious RULE 5 into the blogoshpere conciousness.

But he has also presented an interesting nexus between Rule 1: Shameless Blogwhoring and Rule 5.  Explained thusly:

It’s as predictable as clockwork that whenever any attractive woman becomes suddenly famous, some people will Google her name in combination with various terms including “nude,” “topless” and “bikini.”
People may ask why I, as a conservative, should occasionally stoop to such cheap tricks. As I long ago explained, that kind of Google-search traffic is going to go somewhere, and I see no reason why the nihilistic commercial celebrity sites should monopolize the benefit of such prurience. Also, this is a “teachable moment.”

In the online world, traffic is the coin of the realm. Commercial site operators invest enormous time and effort in search-engine optimization (SEO) strategies to enhance their traffic. Surely you must appreciate the irony, that a mere right-wing blog should ace those clowns out of such lucrative traffic.

What has worked for Stacy? The Kate Middleton Upskirt Photo google bomb.

I have an unintentional analogue here at the NeoSexist, albeit on a much smaller scale. Which I hesitate to mention for fear of upsetting the natural balance of things or angering the google gods. But a simple google search for “SE Cupp Maxim” will show this tiny blog at position number 1 [at least for now].  Ranked higher than the official Maxim page and above SE Cupp’s Official Page. Proving that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

As the man says:  “Total human depravity” as an SEO strategy.

As SE explains below, don’t neglect the 14 year old male demographic:

As an added bonus, the fact that SE has not posed for Maxim should leave people searching for the pictures for a long time.

Don't you think others need to hear this?
