Nobody knows Iowa Politics like the New York Times. As Sarah Palin prepares to speak that the Iowa GOP’s annual Ronald Reagan Dinner, Michael Shear polled some of her potential 2012 opponents to offer some advice to the celebrity.

I am sure that Sarah Palin often seeks the advice of the New York Times. But Michael Shear offers it anyway. Well, the advice is actually from consultants from the 2008 campaigns of McCain, Romney and Huckabee.

But the former Alaska governor turned media celebrity turned Tea Party queen maker is headed to Iowa, the Midwestern state that holds the first-in-the-nation contest for president every four years.

I think this “celebrity” thing, as an attempted meme, will fall flat on its face. The media desperately want to diminish Palin’s flyover appeal by repeatedly claiming she is “just a celebrity”, ya know , like Paris Hilton.
